The Friends of
Van Vorst Park (FVVP) is a not-for-profit 501(C) (3) Corp founded in 1991 that
assists in the development and maintenance of the gardens and public spaces
within Van Vorst Park in downtown Jersey City.
We've led the
way with many park firsts in downtown, including the first historic park
renovation, a dog run, computerized irrigation systems, the community
empowerment approach to park development, and spectacular gardens with
architectural details.
Throughout the
summer we have special musical events, Shakespeare in the Park, a farmers'
market, Films in Park with the VVPA, and much more.
We are always
looking for community members who would like to volunteer in maintaining the
gardens of VVP join our organization, make suggestions regarding additional
events, or ways we can improve our oasis in an urban setting.
